CHI CHI SUPER CC CREAM REVIEW

I purchased this from my local Target for 30% off the original price - bargain! Also, can I just say, I am so happy Chi Chi released a fair shade! Their original 'BB Cream' only had a 'light' shade - and for those who are unfamiliar with the difference of a light and fair toned foundation:

A 'light' foundation shade usually has 'yellow' undertones, whereas

A 'fair' foundation shade usually has 'pink' undertones.

It is important to determine your own skin tone (yellow, pink or neutral undertone) to select the correct base.

The 'FAIR' shade is the lightest in Chi Chi's Super CC Cream range and can I get a hallelujah!
... Yes, I had to Google the spelling of that.

Never have I ever had a shade of 'foundation' - or base in general - that has matched so perfectly to my skin.

This CC Cream also has SPF 30 so no sun burn for me. However, this will cause some flashback in photos.

If you would like to read what's on the box, here you go. Chi Chi hasn't held back in telling you all the natural and 'skincare' qualities that are within this product. Like they say, it's "makeup meets skincare".

However, the result of all these natural 'extracts' etc. result in a rather pungent smell of - tea tree oil? I'm sure what it is, but it smells exactly like all the 'extracts' listed on the back of the box. I'm not saying it necessarily smells bad, I'm just getting a waft that makes me feel like it's good for my skin.

Yes Chi Chi! You can never go wrong with a pump. I find this the best dispenser a foundation can have. At first glance at this packaging, you wouldn't expect so much as a squeeze of the tube of dispense this product, but behold!
An almighty pump.
It appears I'm getting excited.

Another thing that excites me about this product is it's texture. I'm not such a fan of runny foundations as they tend to be watery and streaky when you apply it.

This CC Cream is rather thick and does not slip and slide if you pump it on your hand first.

A slight downfall to this however is the need for more than one pump of the CC Cream for a decent coverage - if you choose to where it alone.
One pump would be sufficient if you were to where this as a base to your foundation as it offers colour correction (hence, the CC. Zing! Everything makes sense.)

As far as wear and tear goes for this CC Cream goes, I would say it goes pretty well. The first time I wore this (with a mattifying primer, the CC Cream applied directly on a buffing brush and blended into skin and set with matte pressed powder), I noticed that the coverage sustained throughout a working day.
The heat of my workplace gave this CC Cream a run for it's money and I can say it held up reasonably well. Even though the product promotes it's moisturising elements, I didn't find that this made me overly oily.
I tend to get most oily on my nose, and with that the product did oil up as expected in this area. However, with a quick blot I was good to go again.
The feeling of this product on my face is in no way cakey, in fact it feels quite light and natural.

Overall, I would be happy to re-purchase this product as it is a quick go-to coverage and colour correction method that I can whack on in a hurry. I don't need to worry about blending all the way to my chest because it is a great match for my skin.

If you have this CC Cream, what are your thought on it? Comment below!

OOTD: Cold Day!

14 May 2015

BRRRR... yes! Today was a tad cold. Cold enough for a pleather jacket, fuzzy crop top and black skinny jeans. Not to mention the black 'converse style' shoes either! The following is a series of my OOTD. Oh sorry, I mean, #ootd.Hope you enjoy :)

These photos are all selfies, taken with the aid of a selfie-stick, because the ownership of a legit camera and tripod is yet to happen.

You can image me with the phone under my chin for this one, can't you?

Although today wasn't blizzard, freezing, frost bite weather, I still rugged up to be comfortable. The jeans were comfy and warm enough paired with the soo cozy light blue crop top and wind-stopping biker jacket. Yas.

I purchased the 'leather' jacket (not real leather, I'm thinking pleather) from COTTON ON for around $70 AUD. A solid buy that will really come in handy on those cooler/windy days. And the days I want to look badass. A real staple piece in my wardrobe.

The black skinny jeans were purchased from MYER for around $40 AUD and the high top black sneakers for $15 AUD (apologies for the inaccurate prices, this is purely from memory as I didn't hold on to the receipts). These jeans, again a staple piece, are super duper cozy and comfy as the elasticity in them allow me to do a few odd high kicks and dance moves due to the lack of 'jean/denim thick ah I can't walk as if I was in regular jeans' feel.

As for the sneakers, there are literally my most worn pair of shoes. So versatile and I wear them with everything!

The fuzzy like a teddy bear crop top was from VALLEYGIRL for $20 AUD. I saw this in my sights and thought, 'Hey, I don't even own a colour like that, let alone a fuzzy crop top of any sort'. Next thing I new, I was walking away with it in my shopping bag and $20 less in my back pocket.

I kept today's makeup look so simple because ehhh I couldn't be bothered to makeup. Just a quick swing of the eyeliner, spot concealing, eyebrow defining and lip smacking, I was good to go.

I hope you all enjoyed this post of my outfit of the day! I tried to keep it short and sweet :)

See you next time

An Expedition of Sorts

About a month ago, my friend visited my home town. Exciting stuff. We hit the streets and ate Subway, without the slightest clue of how we would spend the evening. But after our oh-so-tasty dinner, we ventured into the darker streets and dim lit alleyways (avoiding any possible murderers, kidnappers and others alike) of this quite little town I call home.

After wandering around we came across some street art that we were pretty familiar with and thought, "Hey, that would be a pretty cool photo". So being the photographer that I am (hahaha...good one), we walked from wall to wall taking some happy snaps that would hopefully look good with a filter or two.

I imagine that any 'actual photographer' skimming this post is cringing with the thought that I took all of these with my android phone and edited them with Instagram filters. Yikes. Nonetheless, with everyone these days thinking they are a photographer with the social media to do so, I thought I would have a go, fully aware and content with the fact that I do not think of my self as a badass photographer who is too good for yo.

Any-who, here are the photos that resulted from the night. Enjoy!
