ZOEVA PINK ELEMENTS CLASSIC SET

I purchased this brush set off the website http://www.luxola.com/ at a discounted rate**, and now I think it's safe to say I probably don't need to buy any more brushes...ish. I'm very content with my brush collection at the moment and I think this set just filled in all the missing pieces.

**the discount is no longer valid and this set is currently out of stock on the website.

I completely jumped on purchasing these brushes when Luxola was having a sale on Sigma and Zoeva brushes. I found what I was after with this set and paid a price I was comfortable with for these kind of quality brushes.

The set includes eight brushes: five what I consider eye and brow brushes as well as three face brushes. All brushes in this set have a beautiful hot pink coloured handle, a gun metal coloured ferrule and white bristles [with the exception of the 322 Brow Line and 104 Buffer brushes which have a dark belly]. My purchase also included the high quality Zoeva makeup bag in which the brushes came in, a bag that I think is the perfect size for travelling.

The Five Eye and Brow Brushes:

These include:

- 322 Brow Line
- 317 Wing Liner
- 231 Luxe Petit Crease
- 230 Luxe Pencil
- 227 Luxe Soft Definer

From left to right: 322 Brow Line, 317 Wing Liner,
231 Luxe Petit Crease, 230 Luxe Pencil and 227 Luxe Soft Definer.
These eye and brow brushes are the perfect essential set for anyone interested in furthering their makeup skills!

The 230 Luxe Pencil brush (pictured above left) is ideal for lining your lower lash line to create a more edgy and intense look. You can also use this brush to deepen the colour in you crease or create a vivid cut crease look. The stiffness of this particular brush allows you to create harsh edges of colour in your desired area of the eye.

The 231 Luxe Petit Crease brush, as seen in the centre of the image above, can also help you achieve the cut crease look with a more softer edge. You can really change how the shape of your crease looks with this brush without creating lines of colour that are too harsh.

And finally to the right, the 227 Luxe Soft Definer brush, is your calling to blend those harsh edges of your eyeshadow out and blend some more. You can even utilise this brush when applying your transition shade. Simply pick up your desired colour directly onto this brush and sweep it into the crease. This will create that soft transition  between the colours on your lid all the way up to your brow bone without looking to "in yo face".

The 322 Brow Line brush, pictured above on the left, is a short bristled brush that I imagine would be perfect for gel only brow products. I first used this brush attempting to do my brows with a powder that I normally use, but nuh uh sistah, this brush isn't meant for powder - in my experience. I imagine this brush would work with something like the Anastasia Beverly Hills Dip Brow Pomade because it is a very stiff and dense brush.

Now the 317 Wing Liner brush is something I can use for my brows. I find using this brush with my powder and a bit of wax, it works a charm in shaping my brows. Of course you can use this for your gel eyeliners as well, but I am yet to master that technique of liner. This brush is rather thin so I can mimic the strokes of my brow hairs seamlessly and create a sharp edge to my winged eyeliner (that one time I tried gel eyeliner...)

The Three Face Brushes:

These include:
- 104 Buffer
- 109 Luxe Face Paint brush
- 127 Luxe Sheer Cheek brush

Left: 109 Luxe Face Paint, Middle: 104 Buffer, Right: 127 Luxe Sheer Cheek.
The 104 Buffer brush (pictured in the middle) is my answer to my favourite application technique of foundation. I had been on the hunt for a dense buffer brush but never really was completely satisfied with what I was scoping out, until now. Allow me to explain...

This particular brush has the perfect amount of surface area (sounds odd describing a brush this way), but basically, it is wide enough to apply and blend my foundation over a larger area of my face more quickly than say a smaller brush.

This particular brush is also super dense, so it doesn't suck up my product if I pump my foundation directly onto the bristles or am just simply blending. This brush also offers a light to medium coverage, depending on of course, your foundation and how many layers you apply. The white tipped bristles make it evident that your brush is indeed dirty and in need of a clean...a good indicator really. And yes, this brush is rather soft on your face, however you will still feel a certain stiffness to it because of the density of the packed in bristles.

The 127 Luxe Sheer Cheek brush is, I assume, for blush right? Well because I'm not completely keen on using blush on myself, having naturally flushed cheeks, I actually find this brush useful when I apply either my bronzer or a light contour. I find it fits quite neatly into the hollows of my cheeks and creates that nice warm shadow/contour/light bronzing to my oh so pale face. Like the name suggests, this brush can offer you a nice, sheer colour to the cheek, whether it is blush or bronzer. Once again, the white bristles make this brush look not so white after a single use, but it is so satisfying after you clean them and yay, they are white again.

The bristles are so soft by the way. Like, so soft. Oh my.

Woooooo!

Sorry, excited makeup addict over here.

I have been chasing a brush, such as this 109 Luxe Face Paint brush, to deepen and dramatise my contouring. Oh yeah.

The shape of this brush offers the perfect chiselled look to your cheekbones and fits snuggly in such a place. Mimicking the purpose of the 'oh my who would pay that much' Nars Ita brush, it's simply my answer to dramatic contouring. Or light contouring, depending how much product you use.

Just, love ehhhtt.

Overall, I totally recommend this brush set if you are after the basics of makeup brushes for a good quality, In regards to price, I would suggest finding them on sale to really strike a bargain!

Thanks so much for reading this review and I sincerely hoped it helped! I know when I was researching this set before I purchased it, I really had to dig around as their weren't that many reviews around.

Thanks again, and staaayy spleenndiiiddd :)
